TOP TRAINERS RECOGNIZED IN TORONTO

Thompson Electric has been recognized as one of the top trainers in Ontario with the Ministers Award for Excellence in Apprenticeship Training. On April 6 the Honourable Mary Anne Chambers presented Jason and Earle with the award at a recognition dinner in Toronto.

Out of 16 province wide nominees Thompson Electric was recognized as one of the four best trainers in Ontario. The other three recipients include Brouwer Plumbing & Heating Ltd. (London), Regent CARSTAR Collision (Sudbury) and  RHO-CAN Machine & Tool Company Ltd (London).

 It was a great honour to be acknowledged for our efforts in training and the rewards are experienced everyday when working with bright energetic people. 

Over the years our shop has had the privilege to not only train some of the best electricians in the field but we also get to go on working with them and learning from them. After all isn’t that the way apprentice training is suppose to work. The student becomes the teacher and the teacher then becomes the supervisor.

We thank the nominating committee, the Minister of Training, Colleges and Universities as well as all those people that help us to provide the opportunities necessary for people to enter the electrical trade. 

Also a video of some of our apprentices and job sites was prepared by the ministry and presented at the dinner.
