History

Russell Thompson settled in the Kingston area following the Second World War. While working on his father-in-law’s family owned tourist lodge, Russell began wiring cottages and local farms during the winter to off set the seasonal work of the lodge. He quickly developed a reputation as a hard worker and an honest business man, and even today, it isn’t uncommon to receive the odd phone call from a local farming asking for service on work that Russell had done over 50 years ago.

Russell started with one truck, one man and one approach, do your best, be the best, and know that the job isn’t finished until the customer has a smile on his face. Today, as Thompson Electric enters it’s third generation, that approach hasn’t changed, the only difference is that it is now the work ethic for over 50 people who call Thompson Electric home.
